I think by now everyone and their grandmother has heard about argan oil. I first heard of it via Josie Maran’s line of products which has just exploded into argan infused…everything! I was provided a sample of Radha Beauty’s Argan oil to test via BrandBacker.
Let me begin by saying that I really don’t like not liking a product. It makes me sad. But it’s part of the blogging job.
Radha 100% Argan Oil claims to be cold pressed and therefore produce a quality high grade oil. Its unscented, no preservatives, chemicals, or other oils. It’s made organically in small batches. I’m not really sure exactly what that means to the company but organic beauty is definitely an interest to many, many people. The oil is mean to be used to moisturize and condition. Dry skin should be freshened, hydrated and soft. It can also be used on hair to “beautify and repair” from roots to split ends (now, split ends can never really be “repaired” – the can be tamed but once broken they are pretty much destine for a chop). It can also be used on the scalp and on your nails.
I’ve been using this oil for about a month and I personally find it to be rather heavy. I’ve tried using small amounts, medium amounts, large amounts and it always just feels to me like there’s are oily film on my skin, rather than having the product skin in. I also found that for my fine hair the product was a bit too heavy again. My hair is easily weighed down and even the smallest amount just was too much. The best use I’ve found for it is actually for my nails. I don’t mind an oil based cuticle oil and my hands/nails are always a bit of a disaster from shampooing and coloring hair all week. So I can say that I do like its moisturizing properties in that respect. Other than that, I didn’t really notice any nail strengthening and my nails are quite brittle at the moment. So I was a bit disappointed in this product. I did however receive Coconut oil from the same company. I’ve used it after showers and in baths and I’m quite pleased with it.
