The best battery fit for your golf cart

A lithium battery would be the best fit for your golf cart, but why? There are many stories about lithium batteries. De dangerous sides, the extreme high price and more. Just like in the time of AIS, most of these stories are made up because it is a relatively new product. However the lithium battery has become an important power source in water sports and any kind of sport. Like golf carts, which mostly drive on wed soil and in the early morning, a lithium battery is the best option.

We made described all the know how’s of lithium batteries: A lithium battery or lion battery is a portable power source that is mostly used in consumer electronics and electrical cars. They are used in these industries because of the closed power supply and the long lifespan. There are however also some disadvantages regarding these type of batteries. The battery should never be discharged longer than 5 days. This will make the battery slow and insufficient. This is why most lithium batteries use a battery management system which takes care of loading and unloading the battery. This in contradiction off, for example a nikkel metal hybrid battery which is dispensable with an AA or AAA battery. The most common battery is an Li-ion batter. This battery is somewhat more mature than a lithium battery, but not as good.

The best way of explaining why a lithium battery is the best fit for your golf cart is with an example: A good AGM 200ah service battery costs around $500. At a normal usage your battery should not be discharged more than 50% and with an average lifespan is will get to 400-500 dischargers. A lifespan of 5 years will be the standard. For a lithium battery the specifications are somewhat different. They cost around $800 and at a normal usage they can have 200AH and 12.100BT. Next to this, a led battery will last at least 10 years.

Recent researches have shown that CBD is capable of cooperating with the body’s endocannabinoid system to reduce the manifestations of depression. Pre-clinical research affirms CBD’s antidepressant potential. To understand how CDB effectively treats or eases depression, read on.

Paul Mitchell Pro Tools Express Turbolight Dryer

I don’t really write about hair…or hot tools…but this post, is an ode to my hair dryer.

When I started taking clients my loving husband told me I could have a reward for my hard work thus far! I picked out the Paul Mitchell Pro Tools Express Ion Dry Turbolight Dryer and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. I know what you’re thinking…it’s a flippin’ hair dryer, what could be so special about a hair dryer. And the truth is…a lot. I have a Diane hairdryer that came in my cosmetology kit and my Paul Mitchell dryer, kicks its BUTT!

Here’s what my beauty looks like:

What makes this dryer so special you ask?

  1. Well, first it comes with two concentrators. One has a smaller opening than the other. Just helps sometimes if you’re really trying to get to a certain area (for example, I work with a lot of thick, coarse, ethic hair and I really need to get at the roots).
  2. Okay, next is that it is actually feather light. I mean I hold hold my Paul Mitchell and my Diane and woah, the difference is there. This is a really nice feature when you have you arm up in the air all day drying hair. Nough said.
  3. Next, the express ion aspect. This dryer is HOT. I mean on full blast, this baby can take lives! But it dries hair so flippin’ fast and leaves it SO smooth, that it’s just miraculous. I barely have to use my flat iron. I can do a full blow out and thermal press on really dense course hair in about half the time it took me with my Diane. I will say I’ve had some clients wriggle because of the heat and I’ve had to turn it down a bit lol. But yea, it does work!

If you’re in the market for a higher end dryer – dudettes, this Paul Mitchell Pro Tools Express Ion Dry Turbolight beast is boss.

In other news, I really want to try the Buttercup dryer from DryBar. Mainly because its gorgeous and yellow but also because it sounds like a workhorse too!

Do you have a favorite hair dryer? Would you be interested in me speaking more frequently about hair “stuff”?

Douglas J Aveda Salon Culture Clash Beauty Event and Haul!

Last night I attended the Culture Clash Beauty event at my Douglas J Salon where I get my hair done. It was a great evening! Okay, so the event came with a facial cleanse and makeup application. Aveda was showing off their Spring 2014 collection, which by the way is LOVELY. Totally check it out.

My cleanse was relaxing and a perfect way to get my evening started. Well, I actually got it started with some moscato, but that’s beside the point. But the true highlight of the evening was my makeup application.

My makeup artist for the evening was the fabulous Denitra Townsend. She was SO funny and just all around wonderful to chat with. She also has the MOST amazing pair of Nine West brown heeled boots. I will covet them forever because she got them three years ago and I almost cried when I realized I wouldn’t be able to snag a pair for myself. Somehow I shall live but I’m not sure how. Anyhow, back to makeup!

So here is my look: (I’m not sad – I was just concentrating because my camera was doing…peculiar things)
Cosmetics Aveda

It is the perfect pop of color lip and neutral eye combo. I loved it but the ultimate test was the husband test, and he loved it too! So, three cheers for Danitra!

Here is a close up of my eyes.
Spring 2014

Another eye, with some cheek in it (omg, she used the perfect cool pink color on my cheeks, how did she know?!?! Cool pink blush obsession in full swing)
Aveda Eyeshadow

And finally, the lips (I was scared of lip color and then I fell in love, pure love. Also, Danitra did an ombre look for me using a neutral pencil and then filled in with the pretty pink color)

Danitra was convinced I looked like a barbie, lol, and I’m totally okay with that. :D Latina Barbie here I am!

Okay, so here is the haul. I couldn’t resist. I love eye shadow and they had new colors. And I love lipstick. And…blush. I am single handedly (is that a word!?) stimulating the economy via makeup purchases.

1. Eyeshadow
This is Burnished Bronze and Peony Blush (the eye combo I am actually wearing in the above photos)

This is Seafoam and Aquamarine. (there are two other colors in the new collection but one was a light lilac and the other an olive – just not for me)

Here are swatches of the shadows – they are soft and SO blendable. Love them!

2. Blush
So this trio can be used as three separate colors or mixed to create a super color. Danitra used the one on the far left on me. I was worried the middle was too coral but to be honest, I love all three of these colors on the skin.

3. Lips
I was super worried about this lip color when I looked at it online. It was SO pink but it actually is a really great formula that sheers out on the lips and really looks quite different on everyone I saw wearing it, including Danitra.

Here is a really strong swatch on my hand, but as you saw from my lips, it isn’t that intense.

4. Face
Finally, I bought the Mineral Tinted Moisture bb lotion in Aspen (I just love light formulas!)

So to sum up my experience: It was freaking awesome! I will totally attend another event should there be one. I wore Aveda products on my wedding day and this was my first purchase, I’m already hooked.

Kett Airbrush Certification

Recently I attended a certification class on using the Kett Cosmetics, the creator of a professional airbrush system. I attended this certification class at the Michigan Makeup Academy – they provide professional makeup classes as well as workshops (I’m so happy I’ve found them even though I live 90 minutes away!). They also work with Muse Beauty to provide the Kett airbrush level 1, 2, and 3 certification classes.

Many bloggers I’ve come across use Belletto Studio airbrush compressors and products. Belletto is similar to Kett in that their airbrush products are water based rather than silicone based. This is a good thing because silicone – while providing a barrier – actually makes the face quite “slippery” when incorporated into cosmetics. Anyhow, where was I…oh yes, water based. Kett, however, boasts professional certification as well as being a choice airbrush system of makeup artists and beauty professionals.

Brian, a certified Kett airbrush instructor, cosmetologist, and makeup artist, who works at Muse Beauty, was our instructor for the event. Now there are only a handful of certified teachers so the class locations are varied and spread out. I was really pleased that Brian was our instructor because not only did he know the ins and outs of the Kett airbrush system (and company) but was a wealth of information on the beauty industry in general. He is a professional and a natural teacher/public speaker, being both instructive and humorous at the same time. He is also just a brilliant artist.

Our class included plenty of product information. Kett has three levels of products: a water based airbrush formula, an alcohol based airbrush formula, and a waterproof cream based products. That’s a really simplistic way of explaining it but without getting too crazy – that’s the best way to explain it. We learned the basics of color matching with the system. Using the airbrush compressor and brush to create the basics of airbrush (dots and lines) and using them to airbrush a partners face. And then finally, how to take care of and clean our equipment (always important right?)

So why airbrush? Airbrush provides the means of creating a flawless looking face using small dots of color to blur the skin and create that perfect, smooth skin look we all want in our wedding photos and on HD screens. As an aspiring cosmetologist and makeup artist – I feel it is extremely important for me to be able to airbrush professionally, especially for my future brides. I am also pleased to be able to work with my clients as a certified airbrush artist and use a professional cosmetics line on their skin.

Expect to start seeing airbrush pictures. I came down with a nasty cold this week so I didn’t want to invite anyone into my germ fill home. :D I’m pretty stoked though and excited to get to work airbrushing!
